Pimentel, Sr., Tandag City—-In a steadfast commitment to safeguarding electoral integrity and ensuring public safety, security personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), PNP Maritime Group, PNP-SAF, and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) of Surigao del Sur participated in an official send-off ceremony today, May 5, ahead of the 2025 National and Local Elections.
The event was formally attended by Atty. Rizza Ann Donalyn B. Culima-Constantino, Provincial Election Supervisor of Surigao del Sur, alongside commanding officers of the PNP and AFP, as well as station commanders of the PCG and Maritime Group, reflected strong institutional support for the security initiative.
According to a report from the Provincial Operations Management Unit (POMU), the strategic deployment of uniformed personnel across Surigao del Sur was carried out under the directive of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). This coordinated effort aims to uphold the integrity of the electoral process and ensure the peaceful conduct of the 2025 elections.
The presence of security forces underscores the critical role of a unified approach in securing the elections, preventing disruptions, and protecting democratic processes.
Atty. Culima-Constantino expressed gratitude to the security forces for their dedication and commitment to maintaining order throughout the electoral process. He emphasized the importance of respecting human rights, recognizing that security personnel serve as witnesses to both the challenges and achievements of the nation’s democratic journey.
Furthermore, he reiterated that the deployment of security forces across designated areas in Surigao del Sur is a fundamental duty carried out with impartiality and unwavering adherence to the rule of law, human rights, and international standards.
